Brett Favre has said that his return to the NFL depends on the healing of his shoulder, which underwent surgery May 22 to treat an injured biceps tendon. Favre decided to retire last season because he was having problems with his shoulder and told him he was a little tired after 18 seasons in the NFL.
Favre has announced his retirement on two occasions in March 2008 with the Green Bay Packers, who was his team for 15 years. It was unclear if he would retire because I did not want play more or there were some problems or differences with Packers general manager Ted Thompson and Packers team. Then reconsidered around the 2008 season with the New York Jets, blaming an early retirement decision, but then began having problems with his shoulder since last December.
A few months later decided to announce his retirement again earlier this year and I knew I had to be submitted to surgery. Interest Favre to return and play again was revealed several weeks ago after having undergone surgery and after the Minnesota Vikings showed their interest in Favre their commercial team.
The Vikings have been very clear and said the decision to return to play with them depend solely on the quarterback and how feels about his shoulder. Dr. James Andrews was on hand to perform the surgery in Favre, saying it was a complicated procedure, and that arthroscopic surgery and is that the results of the surgery was a complete success if it should be seen within 4 to 5 weeks.
Favre said he feels very good with the shoulder and has been throwing some balls lately and it feels good but there are some places you have pain in stills and is expected it will get better with time. Favre also stressed that in order to return and play in the NFL again has to be 100% fit. If the shoulder does not heal completely and it not pull the same way he did before he will not return.
Coach Brad Childress of the Minnesota Vikings is the one that Favre has been talking lately and has shown interest in playing again, but also said that knows that Favre is doing and the extra effort to get ready, but if not reach the level of play that is used, it will not play again. Minnesota Vikings owner Zygi Wilf had also shown their interest in Brett Favre playing for the Vikings, but was clear on Wednesday when he said everything will depend on Favre and his shoulder repaired. Wilf did not set a deadline for Favre to make a decision, but training camp starts in late July and appears to be the time for he decides whether he plays or not with the Minnesota Vikings, but then again, everything depends on it.
